A county recorder who makes available in their office a photocopying machine for use by the public may not charge the two dollar per page fee set forth in R.C. 317.32(I) where the photocopier is operated by the public without the assistance of the recorder of her staff. The recorder is, instead, subject to R.C. 149.43(B), which requires a public office to provide copies of public records "at cost."

NEW August 1st 2003 Fee Schedule With the passage of HB 95 on June 20, 2003, the State Legislature doubled all recording fees EFFECTIVE AUGUST 1, 2003. This additional revenue will be sent to the State of Ohio to fund the Ohio Housing Trust Fund and the State's General Fund. To find out more go to http://www.ohiorecorders.com/fees.html.
